SHANGHAI, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Italian medical diagnostics company DiaSorin is seeking more opportunities through its first-time participation in the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

As a leading biotech player in the market for in vitro diagnostics, particularly in immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics, DiaSorin has been present in China since 2006.

"We expect to gain higher visibility as an Italian player and a future local manufacturer in China," said Roy Shi, vice president of corporate affairs at DiaSorin China.

DiaSorin is working on establishing its first manufacturing and research site in Shanghai.

Research and production in the new Shanghai site will grant top-notch tests to provide innovative solutions to the increasing needs of the Chinese healthcare system, providing products in the field of oncology and metabolic disorders, including hypertension.

The company is targeting new market opportunities with an extensive tests' menu and the LIAISON XS, a new chemiluminescence immunoassay platform designed specifically for the Chinese market, Shi added. Enditem
