SHANGHAI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported one new confirmed COVID-19 case on Monday, according to the municipal health commission.

The patient, a 51-year-old male porter who works at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, showed symptoms of fever, stuffiness and fatigue on Nov. 8.

The patient said he has worked at the airport since April 8 and never left Shanghai, adding that he had no COVID-19 contact history and no hospital visits in the past three months, according to the commission.

Wu Jinglei, director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, said that based on the current investigation, the patient had no recent exposure to frozen foods. His work and tracks before diagnosis were not associated with the ongoing 3rd China International Import Expo held in the city.

Local authorities have classified Yingqian Village of Zhuqiao Township in Pudong, where the patient lives, as a medium-risk area. All 26 close contacts of the confirmed case in the village have so far tested negative for COVID-19, the city's disease prevention and control authorities said. Enditem
