PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's Ministry of Health (MoH) said on Tuesday that more than 1,100 people, who came in direct and indirect contact with infected Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, tested negative for the COVID-19 for the second time.

However, they are advised to continue their 14-day self-quarantine at home, pending more tests to ensure that they are free of the virus, the MoH said in a statement. (Cambodia-COVID-19-Hungarian Minister)

YANGON -- Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD), has won a seat in the House of Representatives (Lower House) for the next parliament in Sunday's multiparty general elections, according to an announcement from the Union Election Commission (UEC) on Tuesday.

Suu Kyi, the current State Counsellor of Myanmar, competed in Yangon's Kawmhu constituency against rival candidates from the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), the Union Betterment Party, United Nationalities League for Democracy, Phalon-Sawaw Democratic Party and one independent runner. MANILA -- The Philippine economy shrank by 11.5 percent in July to September from the same period last year as the country gradually reopens the economy while grappling with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Tuesday.

The industries that contributed the least to the GDP were construction, -39.8 percent; real estate and ownership of dwellings, -22.5 percent; and manufacturing, -9.7 percent, PSA head Dennis Mapa said in an online briefing. (Philippines-Economy)

HONG KONG -- Matthew Cheung, Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Tuesday that in view of the latest COVID-19 situation, the existing social distancing measures due to expire on Thursday will be extended for another seven days.
