1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close lower on Wednesday

BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.53 percent to 3,342.2 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.95 percent lower at 13,720.17 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 869.6 billion yuan (about 131.6 billion U.S. dollars), down from 981.2 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Stocks in the electronic information, automobile manufacturing and furniture sectors were major losers, with shares of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group falling by 4.64 percent to close at 8.64 yuan per share.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of fast-growing enterprises, lost 3.31 percent to close at 2,681.52 points on Wednesday. Enditem
