JIANGMEN, China, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tianjin kept its unbeaten record in the second stage of the Chinese women's volleyball league by beating Shandong 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-23) here on Wednesday.
Li Yingying was on fire from the very begining to help Tianjin jump to a 7-2 lead quickly. Shandong had no chance to fight back in the set.
Shandong players gradually found their form in the second set and took away Tianjin's set point. Star player Zhu Ting then secured Tianjin's victory with a powerful spike.
Bouncing back from nine points behind, Tianjin was tested even more fiercely in the third set. Zhu spiked the decider again to conclude the game.
Li Yingying got a game high 26 points for Tianjin, while Song Meili donated Shandong's highest mark of 18 points.
Also on tap was another big clash between Jiangsu and Beijing. The Jiangsu side lost the first set but fought back to take a 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-23) victory.
Jiangsu's Gong Xiangyu got a game high 25 points and her team mate Zhang Changning added 23 points. Beijing's Jin Ye had a team high 15 points.
Wednesday's other games saw Henan beat Yunnan 3-2 (23-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12), Fujian smash Hebei 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-20), Shanghai defeat Zhejiang 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-10) and Liaoning overcome Guangdong 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-14). Enditem
