RABAT, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan navy rescued 50 illegal immigrants from Sub Saharan Africa off the country's northern coast, official news agency MAP reported Thursday.

The migrants were stranded on a dilapidated makeshift boat near the port of Nador city, MAP said.

The bodies of two women and two babies were found in the flimsy boat, it added.

Morocco has become a hub for African migrants seeking to reach Europe, as thousands of migrants try to flee poverty and unrest in Africa each year through Morocco to Europe, either by land or by sea. Enditem
