ZHUJI, China, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Guangdong Southern Tigers rolled to their 10th straight win after trouncing the Shanxi Loongs 130-91, while the Fujian Sturgeons lost to the Zhejiang Lions 133-118 and remained winless in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Thursday.

Seven Guangdong players put double-digit figures on the scoreboard, led by Marshon Brooks' 27.

Despite head coach Du Feng's suspension, Guangdong paced the game from start to finish. Leading 31-23 after the first quarter, the reigning champions began to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring Shanxi 33-19 during the 12-minute span.

Brooks, who wore a wrong jersey that limited his playing minutes in the first half, spearheaded the offense after the interval as Guangdong extended their margin to 30 points, and a 33-point gap killed any suspense in the match.

Zhou Peng scored 18 points for Guangdong, which also got 14 points and eight assists from Zhao Rui.

Jamaal Franklin led Shanxi with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. The other foreign player, Eric Moreland, only nailed three points in his season debut.

Zhejiang got a big boost in its roster as Wilson Chandler, who first played for the team in 2011, rejoined and contributed 18 points and seven rebounds.

Zhejiang guard Sun Minghui posted 29 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. Miroslav Radulica and Hu Jinqiu contributed 24 and 21 points respectively.

Zhejiang widened the gap to over 20 points in the second quarter after Chandler made a shot beyond the arc to make it 63-41 with about three minutes left, and led 72-50 at the halftime.

Fujian whittled away the lead to nine points in the final period, but Sun stepped up to convert a three-point play. Zhejiang held firm from there, handing Fujian its 12th straight skid going into the season.

Fujian center Wang Zhelin notched 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Robert Golden came off the bench to add 24 points.

Five players scored in double digits as the Beijing Ducks saw off the Shenzhen Aviators 98-84.

Beijing center Justin Hamilton scored 21 points. Zhai Xiaochuan added 18 points and nine rebounds.

On the Shenzhen side, Shen Zijie pocketed 18 points. Askia Booker led both sides with 33 points and eight assists.

Also on Thursday, the Sichuan Blue Whales edged the Shanghai Sharks 102-96.

Shanghai guard Jimmer Fredette missed a three-pointer that could have leveled the score late in the game. Han Shuo secured Sichuan's win with three free throws, including one through Fredette's technical foul.

Sichuan veteran center Hamed Haddadi was short of a triple-double with 27 points, 23 boards and nine assists. Jing Hanyi added 19 points. Fredette pocketed 24 points and 15 assists for Shanghai.

The CBA's 14th round matches will kick off on Friday, including a highly-anticipated game between the Jilin Northeast Tigers and the Liaoning Flying Leopards. Enditem
