BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Here are the highlights of China's cultural news from the past week:

-- Documentary on Wuhan's COVID-19 fight to be released

"Days and Nights in Wuhan," a documentary film chronicling Wuhan's fight against COVID-19, will hit China's big screens on Jan. 22.

Set in the central Chinese city, once ravaged by the epidemic, the film's storyline revolves around the lives of ordinary people, including patients, medical personnel, volunteers, and residents, as the virus struck the city.

-- China airs documentary on Forbidden City's restoration

A documentary premiered on Thursday to tell stories about the restoration of ancient buildings in China's Palace Museum.

Titled "Masters in the Forbidden City," the CCTV-9 documentary came as part of efforts to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Forbidden City's construction. It is a former imperial compound that has housed the museum since 1925.

-- China's language research center unveils top 10 media buzzwords of 2020

China's National Language Resources Monitoring and Research Center released the top 10 media buzzwords of 2020, highlighting matters that grabbed the spotlight of the country's media outlets and linguistic features of the reports.

These 10 phrases chronicle the changes in people's lives and economic and social development of China in 2020, namely work and production resumption, COVID-19, asymptomatic infections, cabin hospitals, health QR code, digital RMB, service trade fair, dual circulation, Tianwen-1, and contactless delivery.
