NINGBO, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a rise in freight indices in the Middle East route.

NCFI, a wind vane of China's busiest port's freight rates for the international container shipping market, stood at 2,493.6 points on Friday, up 5.3 percent compared with the previous week.

The sub-reading for the Middle East route quoted 2,266.2 points, up 5.2 percent compared with the previous week.

Reported every Friday (except Chinese holidays), the NCFI was first published in September 2013. Due to the New Year Day’s holiday, the NCFI index previously released on Jan. 1 was adjusted to be released on Jan. 4. Enditem
