NINGBO, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a rise in freight indices in the east South America routes.

The NCFI, reflecting freight rate changes of 21 routes departing from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, stood at 2,493.6 points on Friday, up 5.3 percent compared with the previous week.

The sub-readings for the east coast of South America route quoted 4,610.7 points, up 9.8 percent from the previous week.

Reported every Friday (except Chinese holidays), the NCFI was first published in September 2013. Due to the New Year Day’s holiday, the NCFI index previously released on Jan. 1 was adjusted to be released on Jan. 4. Enditem
