ZHUJI, China, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Zhejiang Lions beat the Nanjing Monkey Kings 99-92, making the latter swallow a 10-game losing streak in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Friday.

Zhao Yanhao of Zhejiang notched a game-high 31 points, while his teammate Hu Jinqiu also contributed 25 points. Arnett Moultrie posted 26 points and 12 rebounds for Nanjing, shooting 12 of 19.

Zhejiang controlled the rhythm early as Hu kept attacking in the paint, leading his team to prevail 24-15 into the second quarter, during which Zhao became at the hub of the incisive attacks, pummeling his opponents with 16 points.

Zhao maintained his mojo in the third period with tough layups, helping his team to lead 75-59.

"We didn't play very well and lost many rebounds tonight, and we need to learn to focus more on the details," said Zhao at the post-game press conference.

Although Nanjing refused to accept a rout and fought back hard, led by Moultrie who scored 17 points, shooting eight of ten in the final period, they could hardly turn the tide as Zhejiang kept making answers.

"We lost the game but we played well, and I'm satisfied and proud. If we continue to play like this, we will win," said Nanjing head coach Memi Becirovic. Enditem
