ZHUJI, China, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Askia Booker had a game-high 40 points, leading the Shenzhen Aviators to a 113-107 victory over the Shandong Heroes in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Sunday.
Shenzhen started the game with a 9-0 scoring run when Shandong made several turnovers, and finished the first period 33-23.
Although Gao Shiyan and Wang Ruheng scored 31 points, Shandong trailed by 11 points before the interval, led by one point in the third period, but surrendered the lead quickly as their scoring went low.
With an 11-point lead into the last period, Shenzhen kept it until the end despite their captain's absence of injury.
Lester Hudson had 28 points, and Gao Shiyan added 26 points for Shandong.
Head coach Gong Xiaobin said Shandong needed to get into form quicker and get more rebounds.
Shooting guard Gao said he blamed the loss because of his poor defense.
