BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Luneng head coach Hao Wei has called for more efforts to be made to develop Chinese local coaches rather than players.
44-year-old Hao, who was voted as the Chinese Coach of the Year on Sunday, said the nurturing of the Chinese local coaches should be a priority for Chinese football.
"A coach can guide and train more than 20 players, and in effect, the development of the coaches should be a more important issue," he said.
Hao took over the Shandong side midway through the last season and steered them to win the Chinese FA Cup title. Enditem
