DAMASCUS, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- A fuel tanker exploded on Tuesday in Syria's central province of Homs, causing a massive fire, state news agency SANA reported.
The fuel tanker exploded near the Syrian Gas Company, SANA said, adding the firefighters are dealing with the blaze.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
The explosion comes as the Syrian energy sector is struggling under the pressure of the cold days in winter and economic sanctions.
