ZHUJI, China, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Center Dakari Johnson notched 27 points, 24 rebounds and 10 blocks to lift the Qingdao Eagles 103-94 past the Shanxi Loongs in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season here on Thursday.

Xu Jiahan contributed a three-pointer and a lay-up, and Qingdao posted a 9-0 run at the beginning of the game.

Ricardo Ledo, who made his debut in the CBA this season, scored 12 points for Shanxi in the second quarter, and Johnson's 20 points and 14 rebounds helped Qingdao finish the first half 53-46 before they further led by 18 points in the third quarter.

With rookie Zhang Ning and shooter Yuan Shuai's three-pointers, Shanxi fought back in the last quarter, but time was running out for them.

"We had a better second half and rebounds tonight," said Qingdao coach Wu Qinglong.

It's Shanxi's third defeat in a row, keeping it in 13th place, and the second straight win for Qingdao.

"We didn't play well tonight and we lost control from the very beginning," said Shanxi coach Ding Wei.

Qingdao will take on Guangzhou in the next round, while Shanxi faces Beijing. Enditem
