HAIKOU, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese men's national football team has started a 20-day training camp here on Friday, to prepare for the upcoming 2021 World Cup Asian qualifiers in Qatar.

Two naturalized players, Ai Kesen and A Lan, were called up, but A Lan did not appear in the training due to epidemic prevention and control.

Head coach Li Tie expressed regret for A Lan's absence. "He played well in the 2020 Chinese Super League. He is now in Guangzhou and we are still communicating with the Guangzhou Evergrande Club. He may train with the team in the last few days of the training," Li said.

Li also introduced the arrangement of the training. "Our players have just finished a special season, they are tired both physically and mentally. The first week of the training will be focused on recovery, we will play warm-up matches with two Chinese Super League teams in the later period," he said.

This training will last until February 10, the day before the Chinese New Year. Enditem
