BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Hit drama "A Little Red Flower" led China's daily box office chart for the 22nd consecutive day on Thursday, accounting for a quarter of the market's total daily earnings of 43 million yuan (nearly 6.7 million U.S. dollars).

Top earner at China's box office since its release on New Year's Eve, the movie saw its total earnings cross the 1.2 billion yuan mark earlier this week, data compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

Movie-ticketing and film data platform Maoyan on Friday predicted that the total earnings of the heartwarming film would reach 1.39 billion yuan.

Crime thriller "Shock Wave 2" ranked second, and the romantic comedy "Warm Hug" placed third. Both domestic productions accounted for around one-fifth and 15 percent of Thursday's box office total, respectively.

China's box office continued to see robust growth into 2021 after scoring a record high for New Year's Day earnings. The total box office revenue so far this year has exceeded 2.7 billion yuan. Enditem
