ZHUJI, China, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- A big effort from rookie Zhu Chuanyu in the fourth quarter helped the Xinjiang Flying Tigers beat the Shanghai Sharks 108-98 in the CBA on Saturday night.

Xinjiang had to play their second game without Zhou Qi, the star center who is expected to out for days with a lateral collateral ligament strain, but Zhu coming off the bench powered with eight points that sent Xinjiang bench into a frenzy.

In a closely contested first half, Ju Mingxin scored five straight points in the second quarter after Xinjiang led by 10.

Donatas Motiejunas made the biggest mark with his offense, scoring 19 points to give Xinjiang 50-48 lead at halftime break.

"It's a difficult game for us. The coaching staff did great job on defensive end and we played better this time," said Motiejunas.

Xinjiang busted the game open with a 16-3 run to start the second half and then stretched the lead to 15 on Qi Lin's dunk.

However, Shanghai got a big boost from Jimmer Fredette's aggressiveness, pulling back 79-75 on a 11-0 run heading into the fourth.

Thanks to Zhu, Xinjiang stretched the lead to 10 points again and eventually held the win.

Zeng Lingxu had 30 points and 15 assists for Xinjiang, followed by Motiejunas's double-double of 28 points and 21 rebounds.
