ZHUJI, China, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks edged the Shandong Heroes 102-96 with a comeback victory, while the Xinjiang Flying Tigers beat the Shanghai Sharks 108-98 in the CBA here on Saturday.

Beijing finished with five players in double figures, with Fang Shuo and Jonathan Gibson scoring 20 points respectively. Lester Hudson of Shandong notched a game-high 27 points.

As Hudson helped his team to control the rhythm in the first half with his 20 points, Shandong led Beijing 59-50 at halftime. But Beijing regrouped in the third quarter after Gibson turned up the heat with two three-pointers.

Fang stood out in the final minutes as he made consecutive shots and helped Beijing to build its first lead with a jump shot, which became the game changer as Beijing sealed the victory with a 12-0 run.

The other game on Saturday saw rookie Zhu Chuanyu shine in the last quarter to help Xinjiang beat Shanghai. Thanks to Zhu who shot four of five in nine minutes, Xinjiang stretched the lead to 10 points and eventually held on to the win.

Zeng Lingxu had 30 points and 15 assists for Xinjiang, followed by Donatas Motiejunas's double-double of 28 points and 21 rebounds. Jimmer Fredette got 34 points and 11 assists for Shanghai.

"It's a difficult game for us. The coaching staff did great job on defensive end and we played better this time," said Motiejunas. Enditem
