Sales of welfare lottery tickets dived 24.4 percent year on year to about 144.49 billion yuan last year, while sports lottery sales fell 17.9 percent to about 189.46 billion yuan, the MOF said.

In December, lottery sales amounted to 36.51 billion yuan, down 10.8 percent year on year.
