KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait will receive 200,000 doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines on Monday, the Ministry of Health announced Sunday.

Abdullah Al-Bader, assistant undersecretary for drug and food control affairs at the Ministry, said the ministry has authorized the vaccine for emergency use to protect people from the coronavirus.

The first batch will arrive at dawn on Monday to ensure the vaccination program will not be delayed, Al-Bader added.

Kuwait launched a national vaccination campaign against COVID-19 on Dec. 24, 2020. Enditem
