Zhao leads Zhejiang past Shandong in CBA

ZHUJI, China, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Yanhao made two free throws with 4.3 seconds left, giving the Zhejiang Lions a narrow 125-121 victory over the Shandong Heroes in the CBA here on Monday.

Zhejiang had the game's biggest advantage of 112-100 after Sun Minghui drove in for a layup with 6:03 minutes to go.

Shangdong bounced back strongly with a 21-11 run to narrow the gap to 123-121 after Troy Gillenwater made a three-point play with 23 seconds on the clock.

Sun grabbed a decisive offensive rebound after Miroslav Radulica missed a follow-up shot with only five seconds left. Zhao then made both free throws, leaving Shandong with no chance to launch a comeback.

Radulica led Zhejiang with a game-high 31 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Zhao finished with 28 points, and Hu Jinqiu added 22 points.

For Shandong, Gillenwater came off the bench to score a team-high 29 points, and Tao Hanlin contributed the team's second highest mark of 17 points.

Zhao and Radulica combined for 19 points, giving Zhejiang a 30-28 lead in the first quarter.

Shandong took the lead on a jumper from Gillenwater early in the second quarter. The game then seesawed between the two sides.

Zhao made both free throws after he grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled by Ja Cheng to help Zhejiang lead 65-62 at the break.

Zhejiang extended its lead to nine points after Li Jinlong made a free throw with 6:24 minutes remaining.

Shandong came from behind to retake the lead on a dunk from Jia Chen before Zhejiang stormed into a 13-5 run to lead 98-92 going into the last period. Enditem
