Hong Kong reports 17 new COVID-19 cases

HONG KONG, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported 17 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking its total tally to 10,913.

The new cases included 16 local infections, of which six had an unknown origin. The only imported case was from Dubai. There were also more than 10 cases testing positive for COVID-19 preliminarily, according to a CHP press briefing.

One of the untraceable confirmed cases and five of the preliminary positive cases were related to a restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, head of the Communicable Disease Branch of the CHP Chuang Shuk-kwan said at the press briefing.

Chuang said the cited six cases visited the restaurant between Feb. 18 to 19 respectively and they belonged to different groups, it was worrying that there might be a transmission route in the restaurant.

According to the Hospital Authority, 208 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in public hospitals and the community treatment facility at AsiaWorld-Expo, and 17 patients are in critical condition. Enditem
