ARJ21 REGIONAL JETLINER

Air China has received its fourth ARJ21 regional jetliner, China's indigenously-developed passenger aircraft, according to the plane's developer.

The delivery on Feb. 28 marked Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC)'s first delivery of its ARJ21 aircraft in 2021, said the state-owned commercial plane-maker.

MANUFACTURING HUB

China has maintained its position as the world's largest manufacturing hub for 11 straight years, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the global manufacturing output, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

In the past five years, the value-added industrial output in China has increased from 23.5 trillion yuan (about 3.63 trillion U.S. dollars) to 31.3 trillion yuan, Xiao Yaqing, minister of MIIT, said Monday.

C919 JET

China Eastern Airlines and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China signed a purchase contract for five planes on Monday, marking the official entry into market operation for China's indigenously-developed C919 large passenger aircraft.

The new planes will be used on routes from Shanghai to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu, according to the airline company. Enditem
