SHANGHAI, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) outfits Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai Port played warm-up games respectively here on Wednesday.

Shanghai Shenhua edged Shanghai's team for the National Games 2-1 thanks to a goal each by young stars Liu Ruofan and Xu Haoyang. Overseas players, including new signings Christian Bassogog and Matej Jonjic, did not show up on the pitch but took routine training under the guidance of the coaching group.

According to the plan of head coach Choi Kang-Hee, group combat will be the major method for the current training sessions while the key players will take no part in the warm-up games until one month before the opener of the CSL season.

Elsewhere, Shanghai Port held an internal game with the senior team beating the reserve team 4-0. Austrian midfielder Marko Arnautovic scored two goals and the other two came from Brazilian striker Ricardo Lopes and 24-year-old midfielder Chen Chunxin.

For Shanghai Port, the warm-up game is not only preparation for the new CSL season but also for their first AFC Champions League 2021 Group Stage game in April. Enditem
