DHAKA -- Bangladesh reported a daily spike of 3,908 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, the highest single-day number recorded since July last year, bringing its total tally to 595,714.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan imposed a complete ban on public gatherings nationwide on Sunday in strengthened efforts to counter its third wave of COVID-19, according to a statement from the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

JAKARTA -- Two suicide bombers, one man and a woman, in the blast outside a cathedral church in Indonesia were killed on Sunday, Spokesman of Provincial Police Office Senior Commissioner E. Zulpan told local media.

MEHTARLAM, Afghanistan -- Three police officers were killed and two civilians were wounded in two separate roadside bomb blasts in Afghanistan on Sunday, authorities confirmed.

In eastern Laghman province, three police officers of Afghan National Police (ANP) were killed when a police armored vehicle was struck by a Taliban roadside bomb in Omarzai, a locality on the outskirts of provincial capital Mehtarlam city at mid-day, a provincial police source told Xinhua anonymously. HONG KONG -- Teresa Cheng, secretary for justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, on Sunday called for joint efforts to condemn and stop doxxing activities.
