ZHUJI, China, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The Guangdong Southern Tigers smashed the Shenzhen Aviators 114-95 with six players scoring double-digits, while the Zhejiang Lions beat the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 104-93 to win the derby in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Saturday.

The Southern Tigers are set to wrap up the CBA regular season in top spot with four rounds remaining thanks to their comfortable victory. Guangdong guard Zhao Rui had a game-high 23 points, while Shenzhen center Shen Zijie scored 20 points and 16 rebounds.

Shenzhen started well with a 13-2 run, but Guangdong fought back with five consecutive points from Ren Junwei. Guangdong continued to score from the three-point line to end the first half 52-47 ahead. In the second half, Guangdong played more aggressively at both ends to extend the gap to more than 10 points in the last quarter and ensure the victory.

Riding an eight-game winning streak, 10-time CBA champions Guangdong have claimed top spot in the regular season for the third straight season, and the 14th time in the league's 26-year history.

Elsewhere, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls were missing star guard Wu Qian, who had picked up an injury in the previous game.

Although six Golden Bulls players scored double-digits, they were powerless to stop the Lions, for whom Hu Jinqiu scored 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Zhao Yanhao had 33 points and Sun Minghui added 17 points with 10 assists.

Also on Saturday, the Beijing Ducks edged the Shanghai Sharks 103-96, and the Sichuan Blue Whales beat the Shanxi Loongs 107-101. Enditem
