BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The second phase of the Yanqing Hydrogen Industrial Park, which is being built for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games in the Yanqing competition zone, has started construction on Saturday, according to the local government.

During the Winter Olympics, it will be part of an integrated platform for the production, storage, transportation and hydrogenation of hydrogen energy, and realize the centralized control of hydrogen energy through smart scheduling.

The first phase project of the Park is the Yanqing Hydrogen Refueling Station, which has passed the safety production assessment and was put into use last year. It has a daily hydrogenation capacity of 500 kilograms, which is enough to power 30 to 50 hydrogen fuel buses.

The second phase project is to build a hydrogen testing laboratory and a research and development platform for the related technologies in use. It has a maximum daily production capacity of 2,800 kgs, which can ensure the demonstration operation of 150 hydrogen fuel vehicles for the Winter Olympics.

Located in northern Beijing, the mountainous Yanqing District will host the Alpine skiing, skeleton, bobsleigh and luge competitions during the 2022 Games. Enditem
