CBA Roundup: Qingdao smashes Nanjing, Guangzhou trounces Jilin

ZHUJI, China, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The Qingdao Eagles smashed the Nanjing Monkey Kings 117-101 to achieve a seven-game winning streak, while the Guangzhou Loong Lions thrashed the Jilin Northeast Tiger 103-85 in the CBA here on Saturday.

Qingdao had a good start with a 17-point lead over Nanjing in the first half, thanks to Dakari Johnson's double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. The remaining quarters saw Nanjing fight back hard, yet still failed to turn the table.

Johnson took the MVP of the game and led Qingdao with 35 points and 20 rebounds, while Shirelijan Muxtar paced Nanjing with a team-high 35 points and eight rebounds, and his teammate Arnett Moultrie also contributed a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds.

With 32 points from Dallas Moore and 21 points from Zheng Zhun, Guangzhou dominated the whole game and beat their opponents by 18 points at the final whistle, staging a bounce back after losing to Jilin in the previous game.

Cui Jinming scored a team-high 29 points for Jilin, with Jiang Zewei adding 15 points, while Zhao Yanman and Isaac Haas notched their double-double respectively for Guangzhou.

In other games, the Fujian Sturgeons pushed aside the Shenzhen Aviators 118-104, and the Tianjin Pioneers edged the Jiangsu Dragons 98-94. Enditem
