FRANKFURT, April 20 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 238.88 points, or 1.55 percent, to close at 15,129.51 points.
Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 4.15 percent, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero, which shed 4.11 percent and 3.85 percent respectively.
Housing associations Deutsche Wohnen, Vonovia and energy group E.ON were the only three winners, up 1.64 percent, 0.60 percent and 0.18 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 315.62 million euros (380.35 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 0.88 percent to close at 1.883 euros per share on Tuesday. Enditem
