JINAN, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Qingdao FC recorded the first victory in the Chinese Super League (CSL) new season by defeating Cangzhou FC 2-1, while Shenzhen FC beat Henan SSLM FC 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Qingdao FC narrowly avoided relegation with a 14th-placed finish last term, while Cangzhou Mighty Lions FC retained its place after the dissolution of Jiangsu Suning.

The two sides have clashed on 10 occasions in the past with Cangzhou leading the head-to-head record.

In the first half, Canzhou took control but Muriqui missed three opportunities, and Adama Diomande failed to convert a chance of his own.

On 42 minutes, with an assist from Zhu Jianrong, who had just come on as a substitute, Qingdao striker Zhou Junchen broke the deadlock.

In the second half, Diomande's shot on 66 minutes netted Canzhou's equalizer. However, only two minutes later, Dejan Radonjic's superb strike sealed Qingdao's win.

In the other game, Henan SSLM FC lost to Shenzhen FC 2-1. Juan Fernando Quintero's two assists helped Shenzhen secure the victory. Henan's Buya Turay scored but was not enough to turn things around.

"Everybody did a great job. we supported each other. Certainly, there are a lot of details we need to take care of, but I am satisfied with them," said Shenzhen FC head coach Jordi Cruyff.

The CSL's upcoming games will see Dalian Pro take on CC Yatai FC on Thursday, while Tianjin JMT FC will face Shanghai Port FC. Enditem
