Schedule of FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers final phase confirmed

BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The schedule has been confirmed for the final phase of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers.

Group A, B and C games will be held in Clark City, Philippines, from June 16-20, while the games of Group E and F will be played in Amman, Jordan, from June 12-14.

The remaining games of Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Sri Lanka have not been scheduled.

China is placed in group B with Malaysia, Japan, and Chinese Taipei. According to the latest announced schedule, China will play against Japan on June 16 and Chinese Taipei on June 17. The Chinese team has another matchup with Japan slated on June 19 and Chinese Taipei on June 20.

The games will be organized in protected environment tournaments to ensure the health and safety of all participants. They will determine the 10 teams that join Bahrain and Lebanon, two already qualified sides of the event.

The 16-team list of FIBA Asia Cup 2021 will be completed with four additional teams through the qualifying tournament for third-ranked teams of the six groups that will take place between August 12 and 14 in Jakarta.
