BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.65 percent, at 3,418.87 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.95 percent lower at 13,933.81 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 883.9 billion yuan (about 136.7 billion U.S. dollars), up from 875.5 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Shares related to the coal and digital currency sectors led the gains, while the medical equipment and bio-pharmaceutical sectors led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 3.46 percent to close at 2,910.41 points. Enditem
