BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.58 percent, at 3,589.75 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.62 percent lower at 14,801.24 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.12 trillion yuan (175.46 billion U.S. dollars), up from about 1 trillion yuan the previous trading day.
Shares related to electricity led the gains, while those related to semiconductor led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.4 percent to close at 3,298.5 points. Enditem
