China's major power line transmits 100 bln kWh of electricity

URUMQI, July 26 (Xinhua) -- The Changji-Guquan ultra-high voltage direct current transmission line has transmitted over 100 billion kWh of electricity from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to other parts of the country since it became operational in 2019.
The transmitted electricity is expected to help reduce the burning of standard coal by 32 million tonnes, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 86.4 million tonnes, sulfur dioxide by 272,000 tonnes and nitrogen oxide by 237,000 tonnes.
The Changji-Guquan transmission line is 3,324 km long, passing through Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Henan and Anhui.
Put into operation in September 2019, the transmission line is the top one globally in terms of voltage level, transmission capacity and distance. Enditem
