New yuan loans rise in Yangtze River Delta in H1

SHANGHAI, July 31 (Xinhua) -- New yuan loans in the Yangtze River Delta region stood at 3.93 trillion yuan (607.42 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2021, 287.9 billion yuan more than the same period last year.

New yuan deposits stood at 4.43 trillion yuan in the first half year, 782.1 billion yuan less than the same period last year, according to the People's Bank of China Shanghai Head Office.

The balance of loans in the region stood at 47.77 trillion yuan at the end of June, up 14.3 percent from the same period last year.

The balance of loans in Chinese yuan reached 46.55 trillion yuan at the end of June, up 14.6 percent year on year. The growth rate was 0.1 percentage points higher than that of the previous month, but 0.2 percentage points lower year on year.

The balance of foreign currency loans hit 188.8 billion U.S. dollars at the end of June, up 15.9 percent year on year.

The balance of the region's deposits stood at 59.45 trillion yuan at the end of June, up 12.2 percent year on year.
