BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- A symposium was held in Beijing Friday to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the event together with nearly 160 others.

Leaders of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee and the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, and representatives of veteran soldiers and young students shared their thoughts at the symposium.

The speakers recalled the fight of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and expounded the great significance of the victory.
