DALIAN, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- A preliminary investigation has identified the cause of an explosion that killed eight people in the city of Dalian, in northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Sept. 10.
Local authorities said on Wednesday that the incident was caused by liquefied petroleum gas leaking from a corroded indoor pipe.
The explosion and resulting fire killed eight people and injured five others in a residential building.
In response to the incident, the municipal security commission said that efforts should be made to enhance the safety management of the citywide natural gas pipeline network. Enditem
