BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.56 percent, at 3,564.09 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.34 percent lower at 14,777.17 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.1 trillion yuan (about 172 billion U.S. dollars), unchanged from that on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to coal, education, and catering and restaurants led the losses. Bucking the downward trend, digital currency posted strong performance.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.16 percent to close at 3,468.87 points Friday. Enditem
