BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Yin Jiaxu, former chairman of China North Industries Group Corporation Ltd., has been indicted for taking bribes and seeking illicit gains for others, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Tuesday.

Yin, also a former secretary of the leading Party members group of the company, allegedly took advantage of his various posts to seek benefits for some organizations and individuals concerning business operations, land use, and personal promotion. In return, he accepted "a huge amount of money and gifts," the SPP statement said.

He also allegedly entrusted his relatives and friends with the profitable business of the company he headed and thus caused significant loss of state interests, the statement added.

Yin's case was investigated by the National Supervisory Commission before being handed over to the SPP, said the SPP.

Upon the designation of the SPP, the Second Branch of the Shanghai Municipal People's Procuratorate reviewed the case and filed it in the Shanghai No.2 Municipal Intermediate People's Court, said the statement.

The SPP said the prosecutors had informed the defendant of his litigation rights, interrogated him, and listened to the defense counsel's opinions. Enditem
