XI'AN, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic defeated Beijing Sports University 2-0 on Tuesday in the 28th round of the 2021 China League One, the country's second-tier football league.

After receiving Ma Junliang's low pass in the box, Kingsley Onuegbu broke the deadlock for Chang'an Athletic in the 54th minute.

Although Robert Tambe missed a bicycle shot opportunity in the 61st minute, Du Changjie's close-range shot found the net, allowing Chang'an Athletic to extend their lead.

"We weren't in good situation in the first half, so I made some alterations in the half break," Chang'an caretaker coach Feng Feng commented. "I asked my players to do low passes patiently, and it worked in the second half."

In January 2021, Oscar Cespedes Cabeza was appointed as the head coach of Chang'an Athletic. But the Spaniard's management company announced that Oscar was no longer Chang'an Athletic's head coach in October.

Feng briefly took up Oscar's place and made his debut on October 14 by defeating Hebei FC of the Chinese Super League (CSL) 1-0 in the last 32 of the 2021 Chinese FA Cup.

Chang'an Athletic is yet to make a formal announcement about their new head coach. According to a source close to the club, the team may not appoint a new head coach until the end of the season.

Chang'an Athletic is currently sixth in the China League One standings with six games left on the calendar. Enditem
