JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo and visiting Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong signed agreements Tuesday on economy, travel bubbles and the extradition of fugitives.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Tuesday had a video call with Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, exchanging views on bilateral ties and other issues, the Cambodia's foreign ministry said in a press statement.

TOKYO -- The Japanese government's advisory panel of virus experts on Tuesday approved a plan to expand COVID-19 quasi-emergency measures to 18 more prefectures with the tougher restrictions coming into effect from Thursday.

ISLAMABAD -- A teacher was drowned while 33 kids were rescued when the boat carrying them overturned in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, local media reports said.

The teacher and the students were on a school trip to the Khanpur dam, some 47 km northwest of the national capital Islamabad. The accident happened during their boating in the lake. (Pakistan-Shipwreck)

HONG KONG -- Hongkong Post said on Tuesday that it will issue a set of special stamps and associated philatelic products on the theme of the Beijing Winter Olympics on Feb. 4.
