BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

OZONE STUDY

A nationwide study in China has found that long-term exposure to ozone gas is associated with increased cardiovascular mortality risks.

According to the results published in the journal Lancet Planetary Health, the cohort study comprises about 100,000 Chinese adults aged 18 years and above. The participants were followed up for nine years.

SF AIRLINES

SF Airlines, China's largest air-cargo carrier, has expanded the size of its freighter fleet to 72, according to the cargo carrier Monday.

The airline has recently put a 767-300BCF cargo plane into operation. It is the second freighter joining the fleet in June, serving efficient and high-quality transport for the fruit season and the mid-year "618" shopping festival, said SF Airlines.

BEIJING-WUHAN HIGH-SPEED RAIL

A high-speed rail linking Beijing with Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei Province, starts normal operation at a speed of 350 km/h on Monday, said the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway).

With train speed raised from 310 km/h to 350 km/h, the shortest trip between Beijing and Wuhan has been reduced by about half an hour to three hours and 48 minutes, according to the company. Enditem
