BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news in China.

ANTIBODIES AGAINST COVID-19

Chinese scientists and their U.S. counterparts have developed two cocktail antibodies against COVID-19 that may deliver a one-two punch to infections caused by the prevalent Omicron variant.

Researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio designed bivalent nanobodies that can provide broad-spectrum protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern including Omicron.

AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

The southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen Monday started allowing fully autonomous vehicles to run on certain roads as a local regulation on smart and internet-connected vehicles went into effect.

It stipulates that fully autonomous automobiles without drivers can run on roads in areas designated by the local traffic management department.

INDUSTRIAL EXHAUST GAS

Chinese researchers have systematically reviewed the application and potential development of industrial exhaust gas in producing aquaculture feed protein.

They introduced the latest progress on microorganisms, protein production technology, nutrition and products using one-carbon gases as substrate, as well as their application in aquatic feed. Enditem
