WISHES FROM SPACE
The celebrations of China's National Day have for the first time reached orbit, as the Shenzhou-14 taikonauts living aboard the Tiangong space station sent a message wishing their great motherland a happy birthday.
The three taikonauts expressed gratitude to the Chinese people for their support and to the great era, and vowed to accomplish their tasks "to fill space with the glory of the motherland."
IN-ORBIT TRANSPOSITION
China's space station lab module Wentian successfully completed in-orbit transposition at 12:44 p.m. Friday, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
It was the first time China has completed the in-orbit transposition of a large-scale spacecraft cabin by applying transfer facilities.
OCEAN ACIDIFICATION
An international group led by Chinese scientists has revealed that the Arctic Ocean is seeing much faster acidification than elsewhere in the world's open oceans due to the sea ice melt there.
The study published on Friday in the journal Science shows that the acidification rates in the western Arctic Ocean are three to four times faster than in other ocean basins. Enditem
