American teenager wins second gold in speed skating World Cup

COPENHAGEN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- American teenager Jordan Stolz claimed his second gold in the speed skating World Cup in Stavanger, Norway on Sunday.

After winning the men's 1,500 meters in a track record on Friday, the 18-year-old clocked one minute and 8.73 seconds for the title of the men's 1,000m. Olympic silver medal winner Laurent Dubreuil of Canada, who finished 0.49 seconds behind, took the silver and the bronze went to Japan's Ryota Kojima in 1:09.31.

Ning Zhongyan of China was seventh with a time of 1:09.83.

Later on Sunday, Felix Rijhnen of Germany grabbed the gold in the men's mass start with Austria's Gabriel Odor and Dutch skater Bart Hoolwerf settling for silver and bronze respectively.

Olympic silver medallist Jutta Leerdam of the Netherlands beat Olympic champion Miho Takagi of Japan to win the women's 1,000 meters in 1:15.61. Takagi, who had claimed the women's 1,500m title on Saturday, went home with the bronze in 1:16.41 while South Korean Kim Min-sun took the silver in 1:15.82.

Li Qishi of China crossed the line in 1:16.93 for fourth place.

In the women's mass start, Ivanie Blondin of Canada was crowned the winner with a time of 8:58.72. Enditem
