ANKARA -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday that Ankara and Cairo could mutually appoint ambassadors in the upcoming months as part of efforts to normalize bilateral ties.

"We can exchange ambassadors in the coming months," Cavusoglu told reporters, adding Ankara and Cairo may hold the third round of technical talks before meeting at the ministerial level. (Türkiye-Egypt-Envoy Appointment)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned the German ambassador for the third time in the past four weeks to protest the repeated "baseless and meddlesome" anti-Tehran remarks by the European country's officials, according to official news agency IRNA.

Hans-Udo Muzel was summoned as part of Tehran's reaction to the adoption of an anti-Iran resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting held on Thursday, which Iran dismissed as a "wrong step" based on a political and instrumental approach toward human rights and Iran, thus, fundamentally "rejected" it. TEHRAN -- Iran has signed a Memorandum of Understanding valued at 300 million U.S. dollars with Russia for car exports to the country, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Monday.

Russia is one of the customers of Iranian automobiles, Fars quoted Mohammadreza Najafi-Manesh, president of the Association of Homogeneous Powertrain Industries and Parts Manufacturers, as saying. (Iran-Russia-Car Export)

TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Monday said a total of 20,842 were rescued and returned to Libya so far in 2022.
