KETOGENIC DIETS MITIGATING CHEMOTHERAPY SIDE EFFECT
A Chinese research group found that the low-carb, high-fat diet may help alleviate the adverse effect in blood for those cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
The study published on Thursday in the journal Science Translational Medicine showed that the ketogenic diets given to rodents and humans could combat low platelet counts caused by the toxic chemical agents.
ANCIENT ARTIFACTS UNEARTHED
Archaeologists have unearthed 53 sites of ancient cultural remains and 278 relics during an evacuation project in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality from April to October.
The artifacts were believed to date back as early as the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770 B.C.-256 B.C.) in a historic site that covers about 1,000 square meters at the lower reaches of Jialing River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, in Chongqing.
GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION PROTECTION
China has approved 2,495 geographical indication (GI) products and seen the registration of 7,013 GI trademarks as of the end of October.
GI sign is used to show the specific geographical origin of a product and identify its qualities or reputation due to that origin. It is an important type of intellectual property right and a quality guarantee. Enditem
