BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.07 percent to 3,197.35 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.25 percent lower at 11,389.79 points.
The turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 869.87 billion yuan (about 124.97 billion U.S. dollars), down from 948.7 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in traditional Chinese medicine and logistics sectors led the gains, while those related to supply and marketing cooperatives saw major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.09 percent to close at 2,411.81 points. Enditem
