BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

DEEP-SEA FLOATING WIND POWER PLATFORM

China's first deep-sea floating wind power platform, invested in and built by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, has completed its floating body assembly.

It marks an important step in the construction of the world's first offshore wind power project with a water depth of over 100 meters and an offshore distance of over 100 kilometers.

AQUATIC ORGANISM CONSERVATION CENTER

An aquatic organism conservation center to protect biodiversity in the Yangtze River and Poyang Lake, China's largest freshwater lake, has recently begun operating.

The center is located in Hukou County of Jiujiang City in the eastern province of Jiangxi. A total of 12,000 specimens of more than 120 endemic aquatic species in the Yangtze River and Poyang Lake are on display in the center.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Archaeologists have unearthed nearly 10,000 stoneware items, dating back 45,000 years to 70,000 years, in the city of Ordos, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The findings resulted from a three-month archaeological project at the east Ulan Murin River basin in 2022. It was jointly launched by the School of Sociology & Anthropology under Sun Yat-sen University and the Ordos' institute of cultural relics and archaeology. Enditem
